No, we work around you and it’s important that we’re able to see how the beers are pouring during normal service. As part of the health check we will require about 15 mins of your time to discuss the issues you are having, and you may want to be available at the end for a de-brief, although a full report will follow.

Yes, this type of taint is referred to as ‘chlorophenol’ and occurs more with darker (phenolic) beers where chlorinated chemicals combine with the phenols and penetrate the inner lining of the beer line.

This problem can be treated successfully with the Avani SOS L3 service. The more costly alternative is to strip out and replace the beer line.

A higher temperature accelerates the cleaning action, but care should be taken when using hot water as any synthetic materials (seals etc.) could become damaged. For regular maintenance cleaning it shouldn’t be necessary to use warm water.

There are two sorts of purple beer line cleaner;

  1. those that are ‘intelligent’ and change colour in accordance with the amount of contamination in a beer line,
  2. and those that are imitation beer line cleaners with a purple or blue dye – this second category do not change colour and are liable to mislead the user into thinking their beer lines are clean.

Desana VERIFY and MAX powders are the most powerful, accurate and reliable ‘intelligent’ colour-change chemicals, allowing an extremely thorough cleaning result. Less reliable chemicals can give false readings.
