Cycle Cuba

The Hospitality Rides Challenge 2026 takes place in April – Riders face a challenging route from the Bay of Pigs to Santa Maria.

The Cuba Challenge

This years’ challenge brings a 400 km ride across Cuba starting from the Bay of Pigs to Santa Maria. The route will be completed mainly off-road over 5 days, and features elevation changes of up to 1,500m per day. Cuba’s weather brings a further challenge, with humid climates and average daily temperatures between 29 and 31°C (84–88°F).

The challenge would be no mean feat for accomplished athletes or cyclists, but team riders are neither – They are all hospitality sector professionals wanting to make a difference by raising vital funds for charities that operate in and support the sector.

Who we’re Supporting

Licensed Trade Charity
The Licensed Trade Charity has been supporting people in the licensed hospitality industry since 1793. For over two centuries, the charity has stood beside pub, bar and brewery workers through some of life’s toughest moments.

It’s estimated that around 250,000 people in the industry could be in need of support at any given time and with your financial support the LTC is able to offer free, confidential support, practical advice and urgent financial guidance. Their team is focused on stopping small issues becoming big problems, offering a listening ear and practical solutions through a dedicated helpline – They offer help, hope and a way forward.

Only A Pavement Away
Only A Pavement Away was founded in 2018 by hospitality industry leaders who believed everyone deserves a second chance. Created in response to the UK’s growing homelessness crisis, the charity connects employers with people facing tough life challenges.

The charity supports those facing homelessness, prison leavers, veterans struggling to adapt to civilian life and those held back by barriers beyond their control. The charity provides support such as funding training, placing people into long-term hospitality sector roles and offering financial support for essentials like rent and travel – helping individuals rebuild their lives whilst strengthening the hospitality industry and easing pressure on public services.
